stay

Well, things are going better now. This week has been so much better than last, and I just feel more easy-going. Maybe it's because this is only a 3 day week! ;) Today one of my girls brought me a red rose. It made my day. And then, at snacktime, I accumulated a pile of gifts including a donut, banana, 2 cookies, crackers, a poptart, and a lollipop. Great day.

Sometimes I want to stay here just so I can watch my students grow up...see what they look like in 5 years or 10 years...see the person they become. I wonder what will happen to them, what choices they will make, what sorrows and joys will enter their lives. Their innocence is so beautiful to me. Today we were making little turkeys and writing things they were thankful for on each feather, and one little girl wrote "God is big." I wish you could step inside my classroom and listen to them pray. It is so powerful. This is what one student said: "Thank you God for this day. Thank you for my family. Thank you for my school. Thank you for my teacher. Thank you for my friends. Thank you for this whole world and all the countries. I think this is a beautiful country to live in. Please be with <student> to come back to school and the sick get out! And the sick get out of every person in this whole world. Amen."
